Here’s a look at what you’re in for:
Your adventure begins as we pick you up right at your hotel and head out to our base nestled in the hills of the Cordillera Oriental, the Dominican’s easternmost mountain range. Along the approximately 45 min ride, you’ll take in the tropical scenes of the Dominican countryside and get a glimpse into the daily rhythm of local life.
The fun really begins as you get behind the wheel and start your journey into the rainforest. We’ll start at the top of the hill with a panoramic view of the beautiful Laguna Limon and the luscious landscapes of Samana Bay.
Playa Limon
Our first stop is at Playa Limon, a virgin beach on the Esmeralda coast, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in the country, home only to Club Med. Enjoy the relaxing stillness of the uncrowded beach, and take a refreshing dip in the clear waters. Here you truly understand the meaning of a Caribbean paradise.
Typical Dominican House
Next, you’ll cruise back to civilization to visit the charming village of Sabana de Nisibon. Immerse yourself in the local culture by exploring a typical country home. Experience Dominican hospitality as you sip locally grown and processed coffee and cacao, two of the country’s most important agricultural exports.
Coconut Farm and Factory
Your journey continues with a stop at a coconut farm. Here enjoy refreshing coconut water, straight from the coconut and right off the tree. Here the coconuts aren’t just for sipping – at this coconut farm and factory learn about how coconut oil is locally produced and then prepared for exportation around the world. You can even take some home for yourself!
It will now be time to make the journey back up the mountain and to the base, but not before you take one more stop to enjoy a dip at the beach. Soak it all up – it’s likely that is an experience you won’t want to forget.
